I just purchased this portfolio in St. Petersburg, Florida from a little consignment shop for $22.00. They are in perfect condition and I will probably eventually frame them.

I bought these prints back in the 70′s, by mail order , for $5.00 . I have kept them in the folder, flat , ever since. They are so beautiful. I am so proud I have kept such good care of them. I want to frame them , finally, and hang in my home. What a good pack rat I am. Donna Jackson.

My boyfriend and I have been watching American Pickers too ;P

I found the same desk on the side of the road for the trash man to pick up! I can’t believe someone was willing to let it go so easy! It’s in pretty good conditions given it’s age (based off the info you gave on here).

There are 2 differences between yours and min though… Yours seems to have a latch on the inside of the desk. On mine there is no latch but two bars embedded into the wood on each side. They look like they would have been sliders for something at one point. I am very interested to know if you find anything else out about the desk I’ll be continuing my research as well!

it’s from the 1920′s. the company is Wabash Company – Alexandria, KY they supposedly manufactured the desk for only 9 years. I am looking to sell one I’ve had since I was 2 year old (1963), mine is in great shape. I’ve been trying to find a selling price. the prices I’ve seen so far (depending on condition) have been $60-$300.

I am so glad you came across my idea! We have found that tape incredibly helpful. Best of all, it doesn’t come off in the dishwasher!

Thanks so much for the idea. My son is going to daycare this year for the first time and I was just about to order those expensive labels. I am going to use this instead.
